Omada® is an online, lifestyle-intervention program that helps members reduce their risk for obesity-related chronic diseases such as type-2 diabetes, hypertension and heart disease. It can also help those with have type 2 diabetes who are not currently taking insulin.  

Omada® incorporates insights about social networking, gaming and behavioral science to motivate critical lifestyle changes. For those at the tipping point of chronic illness, the program provides tools, resources and smart technology at no out-of-pocket cost, including:

  • a wireless scale pre-synced to a password-protected account
  • a specialized health-related curriculum
  • on-demand access to a personal health coach
  • a like-minded online peer network for support

 

Eligibility

Any CU Health Plan member who is over the age of 18 and prefers an online program for the prevention of diabetes, or to assist in the management of other chronic health conditions, may apply for this program. Based on the information the member provides in the application, he or she may be invited to enroll. To qualify, applicants must be at risk for an obesity-related chronic illness.
